Camp Philosophy
The Summer Fun Camp program philosophy is:
- to offer a safe environment with ratios of 1:15
- provide a caring, individual approach
- offer an eclectic range of activities.
Background
Our Summer Fun Camp (originally held at MacGregor School, now held at our centre) began operating in 1997. It grew out of requests from families in our child care program who had older siblings at home and who were looking for a one-stop site over the summer months.
The parents wanted:
- a safe environment
- mature, experienced staff
- individual attentive/caring environment
- a wide range of activities with an emphasis on theme-related events and co-operative crafts. This year we added "Little Ninja's," "Amazing Race" events, and "Survivor" games.
- meals and snacks supplied
- fee to be all inclusive of trips, buses, and special events.
Licensed Capacity
Our licensed capacity is 45 children, aged 6-9. We would like to enroll no more than 30 children each week.
Staff to Student Ratios
- 1:15 ratio, we enroll up to 45 children per week
- Extra staff are also on duty during all bus trips and when deemed necessary by the supervisor.
- We hire extra staff for all day trips involving transportation and swimming activities.
