The Program's Philosophy

The emphasis in our three year old program is still on a safe and nurturing environment. However, much growth and development has occurred since the age of two. The children now exhibit longer attention spans and they are ready for more information about their world. Curiosity abounds and all of the sudden a B looks different than a C and friends are all important.

"Watch me", "look at me", "this is my picture" and "my mommy says" all attest to the way the three year old understands his or her place in the world.

Rules are important to the three year old and they are usually "fixed in stone". Three year olds love routine and repetition. Familiar books are read over and over and over again.

It is during this year that children are not only gaining knowledge and skills, but they are acquiring a disposition toward learning. It is our goal to make learning a natural and exciting event, to stimulate interest in finding out "why" and learning about differences.
