This page explains our toddler program. Click on a link to learn more about: the program's philosophy, staff to student ratios, or more information.
The Program's Philosophy
The emphasis on our toddler program is on nurturing. There is time for holding, for rocking, and lots and lots of attention.
Two year olds are in a rapid growth and development stage. Language skills, gross motor, fine motor, reasoning and memory skills are all waiting to be appropriately stimulated. The curriculum is sensory-based. However, the children experience a full range of activities that prompt and expand development, including math science and many literacy activities.
Staff to Student Ratios
Child care centres are required to adhere to the Ministry of Community, Family and Children's Services, child/teacher ratios.
To meet this Provincial Licensing protocol our Teddy Bear and Panda Bear rooms are enrolled according to the following ratios and timetables:
Room 1: Panda Bear Room — Toddler Program
This is the Toddler room. There are 15 children and three teachers (ratio 1:5): 15 children ages 18 months to 30 months (2.5 years)
Room 2: Teddy Bear Room — Preschool I Room
This is the Preschool room. There are 16 children and 2 teachers (ratio 1:8): 16 children ages 30 months (2.5 years) to 3 years.
